Long Bio (273 words):
Adelaide-based Western Arrernte singer-songwriter Rob Edwards blends soulful melodies with powerful, deeply personal storytelling. Drawing inspiration from nature, identity, and his family’s journey as part of the Stolen Generation, his music seamlessly fuses country, folk, and soul. Warm, honest, and emotionally resonant, Rob’s sound is anchored by expressive vocals and a quiet, compelling strength.
Rob has shared stages with some of Australia’s most respected artists, including Robbie Williams at the Adelaide 500, Vika & Linda, Christine Anu, Budjerah, Ash Grunwald, Pseudo Echo, Kingswood, Alex the Astronaut, Polish Club, and Jack Botts. His live performances span major festivals and events such as WOMADelaide, Queenscliff Music Festival, Harvest Rock Festival, Yabaardu Festival (2022 & 2023), South Australia’s NYE Light Up Festival, and the Jobs & Skills Summit at Parliament House, Canberra, where he continues to connect deeply with audiences as a contemporary storyteller.
His latest release, “Maybe,” is a smooth, contemplative track blending soulful vocals with country-leaning warmth. Intimate and expressive, Rob’s delivery carries both vulnerability and resolve, exploring themes of hope, change, and forward movement. The song unfolds with a gentle sense of purpose, lingering long after the final note.
Beyond the music, Rob uses his art as a platform to spark meaningful conversations around mental health, cultural reconnection, and the ongoing impacts of the Stolen Generation. Influenced by country traditions yet grounded in his lived experience, his sound reflects his identity as a proud First Nations artist.
Rob’s track “The Horizon” marks a return to his original sound — the truest form of his storytelling — where lived experience and melody converge in a body of work from an artist forever in motion.
